Catholic cookies

I reconnected with an old friend on Facebook the other day.  She is one of the dearest people on the face of the earth - someone who will drop everything to help a friend in need.  A woman of great faith, and the epitome of a
PRAYER WARRIOR.
She is the real deal.
Like me, she is also the mother of five.  She has five girls and one boy, and I have four boys and one girl - we are a sisterhood;
THE MOTHERS OF FIVE.
Kind of a sorority where the hazing is daily life  :)

When Sue told me that two of her kids have celiac disease, I knew I needed to make some gluten free cookies for her.  And because she is also one of the most devoted Catholic's I have ever known, I decided to make the designs speak to her faith.

So many beautiful symbols that I'm not sure my icing does justice to.

The letters IHS are an acronym for Jesus.

Much love my friend!

  3. Hi Lisa, I came to your site from a comment you made on another site. I'm now your newest follower and subscriber! Fantastic blog. If you haven't noticed yet, I'm another Lisa too. A UK Lisa, lol.

    I hope you don't mind me subscribing to your blog and commenting? It's always nice to meet new friends with the same interests. I have a baking blog too, if you have time to check it out. Sweet 2 Eat Baking.

  4. Completely gorgeous and touching. I am a person who often "storms heaven" prayerfully for many reasons. I love these cookies, the detail and significance is breathtaking. I would love to give these to our priests. We have one older one and a new young priest that looks like a deer in headlights have the time! HA!
